From a recent trip to the Mountains. Taken a week ago. Still a lot of snow up there and we are waiting for warm weather so that it melt and comes on down the streams and rivers.

Mini made in Britain

Two years ago we bought a Mini Cooper. Not the fast one but the better gas mileage one. It gets about 38 mpg on highway and we are averaging about 32 city mpg. I am currently getting a scooter for traveling to work and will be getting it delivered this Monday which gets 80-100 mpg. Are area is approaching $3.60 for a gallon a petro for the higher octane fuel.

Here is a British video review of our Mini Cooper. We will be trading it in for a newer one in 2010.

We have been going up to the mountains for about 9 years. They say there are mountain goats in the Rocky Mountain National Park but this is the first time we have seen them. Not just one but a whole herd of them. They were along side the road. Pretty cool....

Getting a scooter

When we visited Europe last year, we saw a lot of these scooters running around. They cost around $1,000 and when I saw them, I got the idea that I may get one for going to work. Well that time has come. Fuel cost $3.50 a gallon ($8 a gallon in Europe currently) here and I'm spending $80-$90 a month to go to work 2.5 miles one way. So, it's time to cut some costs. This thing gets 100 MPG and goes about 35 MPH. There is no need for a motorcycle license in our state for a 50cc or lower model which is what this is.
If fuel keeps getting more expensive, I'll think of getting a more powerful one.
I should be getting it around the beginning of May.
